SayOath is a study app for the US citizenship civics test, built by a solo developer. This policy explains what information we collect on this website and through our waitlist, and what we do with it. The app itself has not been released yet. This policy will be updated before release to cover the app.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect only what you type into the form:
- your email address
- which country's test you are preparing for
- roughly when your test is
- whether you use Android or iPhone
We use this to send you the study pack and updates, to decide which country to support next, and to invite Android users to the beta first.
We never ask about, and do not want, your immigration status, nationality, case details or documents. Please do not send them to us.
Our waitlist and newsletter are run by Kit (ConvertKit), which stores your email and form answers on our behalf and sends our emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops all newsletter emails.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information.
- We don't share it with anyone except the services we use to run the waitlist and emails.
- We don't use advertising trackers on this website.
The app and your microphone
SayOath is designed for practising answers out loud, so the app will ask for microphone permission. Before the app is released, this section will say exactly how audio is processed and whether anything is stored. You will be able to use study mode without the microphone.
Children
SayOath is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. To see or delete the information we hold about you, email devvyrn@gmail.com and we will act on it.
Not affiliated with the government
SayOath is not affiliated with USCIS or any government agency. Civics questions come from the official, public USCIS study materials. SayOath is study help, not legal advice.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. Important changes will also be announced by email to the waitlist.
